Elementary School Teacher (TK) Job at Fairmont Elementary in Eastern Region, Uganda

Vacaville Unified School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team at Fairmont Elementary in the Eastern Region of Uganda. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator to shape young minds and contribute to quality primary education in Uganda.

About the Role:
As a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher, you will play a foundational role in the early educational journey of our pupils. You will create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning and supports the holistic development of each child.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet the Ugandan national curriculum standards for early childhood education.
* Develop and implement age-appropriate activities to promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and creative expression.
* Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
* Create a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment that accommodates diverse learning needs.
* Collaborate effectively with fellow teachers, school administration, and parents/guardians to support pupil welfare and achievement.
* Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development programmes.

Requirements & Qualifications:
* A recognised Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Education (Primary) or Early Childhood Development.
* Must be a registered teacher with the Ministry of Education and Sports, Uganda.
* Proven experience teaching lower primary classes (P1, P2, or Kindergarten) is a strong advantage.
* Excellent command of English; proficiency in local languages spoken in the Eastern Region is beneficial.
* Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Passionate about child-centred learning and committed to professional growth.
