Electrical Foreman Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading building materials manufacturer in Uganda, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to advance their career in a stable and growing industrial sector.

As an Electrical Foreman at Hima Cement, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our electrical systems. You will lead a team of technicians, oversee electrical installations, and implement preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of electrical technicians and artisans.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical maintenance and repair works for plant equipment.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with Ugandan safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts, and equipment performance.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure team adherence to all health and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other engineering departments to support overall plant productivity.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• At least 5 years of proven work experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, and PLCs.
• Valid practising licence from the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is a must.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
