Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitisation of hospital wards, departments, offices, and public areas according to NHS standards.
- Handle and dispose of clinical and general waste safely and appropriately.
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and other sanitary items.
- Use and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals correctly and safely.
- Adhere to all infection control and health & safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other domestic and hospital staff to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in a cleaning or domestic role, preferably in a hospital, hotel, or large institution, is an advantage.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a keen eye for detail.
- Good physical fitness as the role involves standing, bending, and lifting.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanour.
