Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care IMC Mbale, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to both hospital units and direct clients. Your role is crucial in ensuring patients receive the correct medication and understand how to use it, directly impacting treatment outcomes and adherence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed items in accordance with hospital and national regulations.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and professional counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, doctors, and other hospital units to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage drug inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist in ordering processes.
- Uphold the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and confidentiality in the dispensary.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training as required by the hospital.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a Ugandan institution.
- Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
- Proven experience working as a dispenser or in a similar role within a Ugandan healthcare setting is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and at least one local language spoken in Mbale (e.g., Lumasaaba).
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a high degree of integrity.
- Computer literacy for managing digital records.
