Chief Investment Officer Job at National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda
Job Description
The National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Uganda's leading social security provider and a major player in the national economy, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Investment Officer. This is a senior executive role for a professional ready to lead the investment strategy for one of the largest funds in the country.
As the Chief Investment Officer, you will be responsible for managing and growing the Fund's investment portfolio, ensuring optimal returns for members while maintaining prudent risk management. You will join an experienced team of professionals dedicated to securing the financial future of Ugandan workers.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and execute the Fund's overall investment strategy and policy.
- Lead the management of a multi-trillion shilling investment portfolio across various asset classes.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify profitable investment opportunities in Uganda and the East African region.
- Oversee asset allocation, portfolio performance, and risk management frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing investment team.
- Prepare and present detailed investment reports and performance analyses to senior management and the Board.
- Ensure all investment activities comply with Ugandan regulations, the NSSF Act, and internal governance policies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional qualification like CFA is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in investment management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex investment portfolios.
- Deep understanding of the Ugandan and East African financial markets, investment instruments, and regulatory environment.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
