Brand and Communications Manager Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading building materials manufacturer in Uganda, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Brand and Communications Manager to join its team in Kampala. This is a senior-level role for a strategic thinker who will shape and protect the company's brand reputation across all channels.

As the Brand and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that align with Hima Cement's business objectives. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing brand visibility, managing media relations, and engaging with key stakeholders in the Ugandan construction and building sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an integrated brand and communications strategy for Uganda.
• Manage all corporate communications, including media relations, press releases, and public statements.
• Oversee the creation of marketing and communication materials, ensuring consistent brand messaging.
• Lead digital communications, including website content, social media management, and email campaigns.
• Plan and manage corporate events, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing reports and strategic recommendations.
• Manage the communications budget and external agency relationships.
• Act as a company spokesperson when required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in brand management, corporate communications, or public relations, preferably in the manufacturing, FMCG, or construction sectors in Uganda.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong network with Ugandan media houses and a deep understanding of the local media landscape.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
• Strategic thinker with strong project management and crisis communication skills.
