This is a senior leadership role for a banking professional ready to drive business growth, ensure operational excellence, and deliver exceptional customer service in Western Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Mbarara branch operations.
• Drive business growth by developing and implementing effective sales strategies for deposits, loans, and other bank products.
• Ensure the branch achieves its financial targets, including profitability, asset quality, and liability generation.
• Maintain the highest standards of customer service excellence and resolve escalated customer issues promptly.
• Oversee branch compliance with all Bank of Uganda regulations, internal policies, and operational procedures.
• Manage, mentor, and develop branch staff to build a high-performing team.
• Control branch costs and manage the branch budget effectively.
• Represent Equity Bank in the Mbarara community and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field from a recognised university.
• At least 7 years of proven experience in the banking sector in Uganda.
• A minimum of 3 years in a branch management or senior supervisory role within a bank.
• Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills.
• Excellent understanding of banking products, credit risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting business targets.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
